 President Obama Signs Bill to Extend Funding for

SBA Recovery Lending Programs through February 28, 2010

Small Business Administration (SBA) restarted Recovery loan approvals on December 28, 2009. President Obama signed an appropriations bill that included $125 million to continue the enhancements made possible through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) to SBA’s two largest loan programs. What this means for you:

  •  Enhancements to the SBA 7(a) program – a 90% guarantee and waiving of SBA Guarantee Fees – will continue through February 28, 2010.
  • Existing loan applications from borrowers who chose to be placed in the SBA’s Recovery Loan Queue will be funded first.
  • New approvals of loans with the higher guarantee and reduced fees are expected to begin by December 28, 2009.
